Dr. Jagat Podduturi, DVM Practice Owner
We are excited to welcome Dr. Jagat Podduturi as the new owner of Philly Pet Clinic, carrying forward a proud legacy of compassionate care built by Dr. Rude and Dr. James Wilson before him.
Dr. Podduturi brings a truly exceptional depth of experience to our practice. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in India and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Immunology and Virology from LSU Health Sciences Center in Louisiana. Before transitioning to clinical medicine, he contributed to groundbreaking research in human cytomegalovirus — a background that gives him a uniquely scientific approach to diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Podduturi spent seven years working as an emergency veterinarian, giving him the skills and composure to handle even the most critical cases with confidence. He has extensive experience treating a wide range of medical and surgical conditions in dogs, cats, and exotic animals. His special interests include surgery and internal medicine, with a particular passion for complex and critical cases.

Dr. Podduturi strongly believes that the health, quality of life and longevity of a pet lies in regular well visits and he is very excited to be part of the lives of pets cared for at Philly Pet Clinic and be able to provide the care they deserve.
Dr. Podduturi lives with his wife (who is also a veterinarian practicing integrative medicine in Yardley, Pa), his two children and his fur child “taffy” a calico. In his spare time he likes to go on jogs, gardening and do fun activities with his kids.
